ASAP Connect App has a dedicated editorial team, as well as freelance writers. Sharing regular posts on the dynamic cultures of photography from or about South Asia – occasionally in regional languages – its unique, functional design hopes to foster a growing public around the interdisciplinary aspects of image-making. With a focus on artists, projects and arts institutions, we aim to uncover new testimonies and provide an inclusive trajectory.
ASAP Connect features four easily accessed sections on the landing page, namely Stories, Events, Grants and Albums, and presents special features such as watch-lists, live-recording/streaming capabilities, and current updates. Its public-facing scholarship and accessible writing through a mix of long and short posts, together with slideshows, provides an informative as well as interpretive perspective.
The content is presented in many formats – exclusive interviews, podcasts and video content around readings of art in general (pop-culture, exhibitions, design etc.). Through its research-led articles, this ‘alternative’ online forum hopes to open up new dimensions of how lens-based practices, including cinema, are considered across the world. We would also like to consolidate further connections between various arts thinkers/makers/institutions and the community, and hence we also invite articles from the public.
