After the 2015 waste crisis, the fragility of the waste management sector in Lebanon was revealed. Our motivation for a better environment drove us to seek and develop innovative solutions to implement, and our experience in the field showed us the key problems.
Today we are still in an environment where 90% of our waste ends up in uncontrolled open dumps. Our society is caught in a vicious cycle where the municipal districts don’t have the funding or support to create an integrated value chain and the residents do not trust the system or see a need to put an effort.
We finally got together to bring Nadeera to life, a social enterprise that speaks to both the municipality and the citizen. We put the system in place, empowering municipalities to deploy it, and engaging the citizen at every step of the way. We envision a world where being environmentally conscious is second-nature, and taking care of our environment and health is embedded in our lifestyle.
We have worked with municipalities to design and deploy citizen-centric, fit-for-purpose, integrated, and sustainable waste management masterplans. Our focus is on citizens' outreach to reduce, reuse, and sort waste all enabled by technology; in addition to implementing waste tracing to monitor performance, optimize efficiency, and ensure higher material and value recovery. This enables municipalities to reduce their waste management costs, recover value from waste, and alleviate health and environmental issues due to waste mismanagement.

Chinese wall of data security
We have no access to personal information. We only have an account number linked to the distributed QR codes for traceability and ratings of your waste bags and items.
Easy rating system by the inspector
Each waste bag submitted through the Nadeera app will be individually inspected and rated on the level of contamination. The better you sort, the more points you earn to use for requesting waste pickups or redeeming them at the Nadeera Marketplace.
On-demand pickups
Not only can you view the weekly collection schedule for organic and residual waste, view the nearby drop off points for recyclables and special waste items, but also schedule on-demand pickups for your waste items from the comfort of your home. Request a pickup through the app and have Nadeera Collectors collect your waste bags at any time.
Nadeera points
For every waste management interaction with the app you will earn points which will then give you the ability to spend them in the Nadeera Marketplace. The more badges you earn, the faster you collect points, the more you have to spend! The markeplace will have access to discounts, coupons, as well as refurbished, upcycled items, and new items from our network of listed stores.

Barcode searching
If you are not sure where your waste items goes, you can easily take a picture of any item that has a barcode to know in which pile it needs to be separated into. And for items without barcodes you can search for the item or generic name to be informed on where to go. In case the item is not listed please let us know through the feedback form and we will let you know where it goes and add it to the database.
