RTAB-Map(Real-TimeAppearance-BasedMapping)isanOpenSourceLiDAR/RGB-D/StereoGraph-BasedSLAMapproachbasedonanonlineincrementalappearance-basedloopclosuredetector.Theloopclosuredetectorusesabag-of-wordsapproachtodeterminatehowlikelyanewimagecomesfromapreviouslocationoranewlocation.Whenaloopclosurehypothesisisaccepted,anewconstraintisaddedtothemap'sgraph,thenagraphoptimizerminimizestheerrorsinthemapinreal-time.Anoptionalmemorymanagementapproachcanbeusedtolimitthenumberoflocationsusedforloopclosuredetectionandgraphoptimization,sothatreal-timeconstraintsonlarge-scaleenvironnementsarealwaysrespected.
